Fruit & Vegetable Puree Production Requirements and Product Variants.

Whole-Produce Puree

Specify incoming condition, raw handling, removal / waste, specialist pulping / refining and accepted solids / quality. Raw input mass and good puree mass are different quantities.

Purchased Puree Blends

Define composition, ingredients, viscosity / fibers, mixing / transfer and required package / storage route. Buying puree can remove major raw-processing duties from the facility boundary.

Smooth and Particulate Vegetable / Fruit Products

Fiber, seeds, pieces, acidity and heat / shear sensitivity vary. Trial the actual envelope through mixing, thermal handling, transfer and the final package.

Connect the Production Process

Compare complete alternatives with the same accepted puree quality and package.

  1. Define incoming materialWhole, prepared or bought puree.
  2. Map specialist preparationRefining, separation and waste.
  3. Set accepted outputSolids, particles and quality.
  4. Price full scopeSite, services and packaging.
Resolve before procurementA blending-vessel price is not a raw-produce puree plant price.

Measure the actual product through its temperature / process history and sample after the route.

  1. Define product envelopeViscosity, fiber and largest piece.
  2. Specify passages / dutyPump, valve and route.
  3. Coordinate downstreamQualified thermal / filler access.
  4. Verify accepted qualityFinal package and mass balance.
Resolve before procurementFaster flow that damages particles or quality is not useful good output.

Establish the product / package preservation and cleaning boundary with responsible specialists.

  1. Assign product processQualified preservation and release.
  2. Map installed circuitsSoils, devices and returns.
  3. Check shared utilitiesHeat, cold, water and waste.
  4. Complete representative trialsProduct / package and cleaning.
Resolve before procurementNeither acidity nor a generic cooking step establishes a universal shelf-life claim.

Fruit & Vegetable Puree Equipment Selection: Resolve the Operating Duty First.

Ask for the accepted product and every excluded preparation / refining / package step in writing. Compare raw-ingredient yield and waste on measured quantities, and review texture after the entire proposed route. A low vessel quote can exclude the largest specialist packages and utility / waste duties.

Engineering the Whole Line

Start with the business outcome

A puree manufacturer first needs the processing boundary established: receiving whole produce, refining prepared material or blending bought puree are different projects. DPS can assess applicable scoped vessels, utilities, controls, sanitary transfer and installation interfaces around specialist packages. Returns should use accepted puree and actual waste / ingredient balances, not nominal raw-produce throughput or a universal extraction yield.

Confirm the exact fruit & vegetable puree product, preservation route and project suitability with DPS before assigning a delivery scope. Washing / sorting, peeling / pulping / refining, separation, product-specific thermal / aseptic processing and filling require qualified specialists and explicit OEM scope. Product suitability must be confirmed; no DPS proprietary puree technology, validated preservation process or dedicated customer yield is implied.

Commissioning Tests and Performance Acceptance.

Agree Raw or Purchased-Base Scope

Define incoming produce or bought puree, raw preparation, pulping or refining responsibilities, waste streams and accepted final solids and quality.

Trial Product Through Transfer and Treatment

Check fibers, seeds, particles, viscosity and heat or shear sensitivity through the agreed specialist process and package route.

Verify Accepted Yield and Changes

Reconcile incoming material, removed and retained streams, good puree output and the qualified cleaning sequence across representative products.

Plan Your Project

Review the scope, cost assumptions and operating case for your project. The examples and calculators below support early planning and are not DPS quotations.

Compare Operating Corrections, Retrofit and Replacement.

Establish actual raw / purchased-ingredient boundary, good-output balance, texture / fiber duty and line losses before selecting a correction.

Fruit & Vegetable Puree Equipment Price vs Full Installed Project Cost.

Compare proposals with the same product duty, supplier boundaries and acceptance basis. The amount below is a transparent planning example, not a market price range, supplier estimate or DPS quotation.

Separate one-time startup / shutdown cost$45,000
Incremental working capital$35,000
Total initial cash$741,250

The defined scope assumes applicable freight, procurement charges and taxes are included in the owner’s estimate. Add missing civil, land / shell, OEM, environmental, validation and permitting costs explicitly. Site and field conditions, duty, production access and quoted supplier scope determine actual price. Financing is excluded.

Worked Operating Case

Hypothetical owner-budget case: 250 days × 0.5 useful recovered hour/day × 1,200 good kg/h × 55% realization gives 82,500 incremental sold kg/year after the 110,000 kg demand ceiling. Net price $3.8/kg less incremental variable cost $2.4/kg gives $1.4/kg contribution. The baseline inputs assume $18,000 energy, $16,000 water / chemistry and $9,000 maintenance reductions per year. Avoided payroll is 0 hours × $40 × 0% cash realization. Verified baseline purchase reduction contributes $0; its basis is unchanged accepted baseline output. Deduct $22,000 added annual fixed cost. Result: $136,500 steady net benefit; initial cash $741,250 includes the separate site, contingency, startup and working-capital inputs. These are original illustrative assumptions, not a quotation, price benchmark or achieved DPS result.

Calculated from these assumptions: steady annual net benefit $136,500; year-one net cash $73,100; cash payback Beyond 5 years; five-year NPV at 10% is −$281,444. Change the assumptions below to test a different case.

  • Output is capped by demand. Count each production gain or verified cash saving once.

Fruit & Vegetable Puree Baseline Energy-Cost Worksheet

The default reproduces the main retrofit energy input of $18,000/year before added maintenance. The narrow worksheet is not a product-process calculation and does not automatically transfer values into the ROI model. Additional annual service is included in the main added-fixed-cost allowance; deduct it once.

Fruit & Vegetable Puree Equipment and Plant Upgrade FAQ.

Does a puree blending quote include extraction?
Only if explicitly stated. Raw sorting, preparation, pulping / refining, waste and specialist process packages can be separate major costs.
Can a pump rate represent good puree capacity?
Only after the product, downstream access and accepted quality / quantity are demonstrated. Fibers and particles can change actual route behavior.
Can generic acidity establish shelf stability?
No. Qualified product / process / package and storage review is required for the actual puree.
Are these prices or returns a DPS commitment?
No. The example inputs exist to make the business-case calculation reviewable. Actual scope, prices, schedule, savings and performance need project-specific assessment and agreement.
What should the first DPS conversation include?
Bring the product and package mix, operating baseline, commercial target, retained assets, site constraints, available outage window and the capital options you are considering. Mark unknowns for measurement or supplier trials.
